Art Tips That Blew Your Mind

Inspired by the "meme" going around twitter. What are some art tips that fundamentally changed the way you did or thought about your art?
There's 3 for me, in order of complexity:
- The nose is a funky diamond from every angle.
- The Loomis method of head construction -- After drawing the initial circle for the head, draw another circle that sort of "slices off" part of the big circle as if it were a sphere because the sides of the head are flat. Draw perpendicular lines centered in this circle. The horizontal is your brow line, the vertical is where your jaw starts. A line around the head from the bottom of that second circle is where the nose sits.
